In this module, participants will:
Learn how to best approach teaching Worlds of Upheaval, including a consideration of prescribed and related text selection, to ensure students develop a strong understanding of how writers represent times of upheaval.
Learn strategies for developing students’ integrated analysis responses.

In this module, participants will:
Learn how to map the elective and build cohesion between texts from the outset of the study.
Learn how to integrate teaching of prescribed and related texts.
Learn strategies for teaching Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and Fritz Lang’s Metropolis.

In this module, participants will:
Learn strategies for teaching Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot and Seamus Heaney’s poetry.
Consider ways of modelling and scaffolding responses to examination questions that ensures an integrated treatment of texts and a cohesive line of argument.
Learn strategies for offering effective feedback to students, which foregrounds the importance of close engagement with the given question, a well-developed understanding of how writers represent times of upheaval, integration of relevant contextual knowledge, control of language and form, and clear and precise written communication.
This course takes place in the Into English online learning environment, which is powered by Canvas.

The course takes place on Tuesday 5th July 2022. There is a live 1.5 hour Canvas Conferences session for each module. To maximise course interaction, it is best to attend these sessions.
